In collaboration with students at the Australian National University, BMCA have created ConstructionEye for real-time cloud-based taking and recording of geolocated dated-stamped photographs, issues, and site audits. This platform enables stakeholders to access relevant imagery and documentation in real-time by way of a simple link in a web browser or through the accompanying cross-platform mobile application. ConstructionEye brings an unparalleled ability to remotely monitor site progress, quality, safety and environmental performance. BMCA have deployed ConstructionEye on all of our on-going projects.

At its core, ConstructionEye is primarily a record keeping service. This is achieved through the concept of a ‘Snap’ representing a point in time documented with text, tags, geolocation and imagery. For any given project, ConstructionEye is capable of recording all aspects of site progress by grouping a set of snaps which represent a snapshot of a particular day. This data is captured from mobile devices through an easy-to-use user interface and is stored in real-time in our backend to be recalled at any time. This has enabled us to keep a complete record of daily progress on construction sites and has proven instrumental in resolving design RFIs, assisting in asset handover to Government agencies and settling construction claims on many BMCA projects to date covering a range of various work scopes.

Construction Eye has proved invaluable in resolving design RFIs, assisting in asset handover to Government agencies and settling construction claims on many BMCA projects to date covering a range of various work scopes. For example, below is a link to a daily snapshot of progress on the on-going West Basin Stage 2 project:

ConstructionEye includes the ability to conduct and review custom audits. Many businesses aim to adhere to quality management standards set out by the ISO 9001 requiring them to perform and document regular audits of all aspects of operation to maintain ISO certification. ConstructionEye facilitates the adherence to ISO 9001 through its real-time auditing tools which BMCA uses to conduct audits ranging from pre-start checklists to regular site audits.

Audits can be completed from the ConstructionEye mobile application or from a web browser and responses are stored to retain the required evidence for on-going ISO certification. Information stored using ConstructionEye is backed up regularly to ensure integrity of the data being stored.

In parallel with the ability to record snapshots of work completed, ConstructionEye offers the ability to identify and track issues in real-time on a per project basis. These issues can be anything relevant to the completion of a contract, including environmental, and work health and safety concerns. Issue tracking ensures that problems identified on site are recorded in detail and that relevant stakeholders resolve them in a timely manner. Issues are also tracked after resolution to quickly identify and address repeat occurrences of problems.
