Black Mountain Construction Assurance (BMCA) was engaged to support a critical infrastructure upgrade in south Canberra — duplicating a 1.7 km road between McCulloch Street and Tuggeranong Parkway. This project was vital to improving connectivity with the Molonglo Valley.
Our role was to deliver contract administration, civil surveillance and traffic management services. Our expertise and proactive site leadership contributed to the project being delivered ahead of schedule and to a high standard.
Scope of works
- Duplication of 1.7 km of road, including earthworks and pavement
- Construction of a new bridge over Yarralumla Creek
- Upgrades to Tuggeranong Parkway interchange intersections
- Installation of new stormwater drainage infrastructure
- Resealing of existing carriageways
- Relocation of utilities
- Construction of noise and retaining walls
Our team ensured smooth delivery of complex structural works, including a new bridge over Yarralumla Creek.
Throughout construction, we maintained strong lines of communication with stakeholders, including shared path users and the ACT Equestrian Association. These relationships helped us minimise disruption, protect the waterways and quickly address trail and access issues as they arose.
BMCA’s hands-on management of traffic staging and daily traffic switches ensured safe, continuous movement for commuters during the works.
We also used our ConstructionEye software to capture detailed, real-time site data. This gave our client greater visibility, supported faster issue resolution and helped mitigate risk.
Through careful planning, clear communication and expert on-site management, BMCA played a key role in delivering this essential infrastructure upgrade — completed ahead of schedule and with minimal disruption to the community.
